AMP Research PowerStep Smart Series for Chevrolet | Ford | RAM

The AMP Research PowerStep Smart Series brings app control to your RAM 1500 DT's electric running boards, so you're not stuck fumbling for a manual override switch every time you want the steps to behave differently. Open the AMP Research app on your phone and you can override the steps to stay up or down, or switch the integrated (or auxiliary) LED lights on and off, all without touching a physical switch.

The step profile on this Smart Series version has been reworked to sit flush with the chiselled lines of the newer body-style RAM, so it doesn't look bolted on as an afterthought. It's a genuine quality-of-life upgrade for anyone who's tired of the factory step height on a lifted or standard-height DT.

One thing worth knowing before you order: this Smart Series kit suits earlier Hemi V8-powered RAM 1500 DT models, including pre-September 2025 Rebel, Laramie Sport and Limited. It's not compatible with the newer Hurricane engine RAM 1500 DT models. If you're not sure which engine is under the bonnet, check with us before ordering.
