VR Evo 12-S Winch with Synthetic Rope by Warn

The Warn VR Evo 12-S Winch combines tactical styling, fast line speed and lower amp draw with the reliability expected from Warn’s VR Evo range. Its 12,000lb (5,443kg) rated line pull is designed for big utes, large-frame rigs and heavily equipped touring vehicles.

A series-wound motor and three-stage planetary gear train provide dependable recovery performance. IP68-rated construction helps protect the winch from water and dust, while the Albright contactor sits inside a relocatable control pack for flexible installation.

The two-in-one remote supports wired and wireless operation, with a 3.5m lead available when required. Whether the job is a difficult recovery or standard-duty pulling, the VR Evo 12-S gives you straightforward control.

What size vehicles is the VR Evo 12-S designed for?

With a rated line pull of 12,000lb (5,443kg), the VR Evo 12-S is built for full-size dual-cab utes, large touring wagons and heavily accessorised 4WDs. Always ensure your bull bar is rated to suit a 12,000lb winch.

Will this winch fit my bull bar?

The VR Evo 12-S uses the industry-standard 254mm x 114.3mm mounting bolt pattern, making it compatible with most winch-ready bull bars in Australia. Confirm your bar is rated for a 12,000lb winch and has adequate clearance around the control pack.

Does this winch come pre-spooled with synthetic rope?

Yes. The VR Evo 12-S is supplied with Warn’s Spydura synthetic rope pre-installed, along with a die-cast aluminium hawse fairlead. Synthetic rope offers safer handling, reduced weight and easier field repairs compared with steel cable.

Is the Warn VR Evo 12-S waterproof?

The winch features IP68-rated sealing for the motor and contactor, offering strong protection against water and dust ingress. It is designed for harsh off-road use, including wet and muddy recovery situations, but regular maintenance is still recommended.

What remote options are included?

What battery is required?

Warn recommends a minimum 650 CCA battery. For a 12,000lb winch used in demanding conditions, a quality AGM battery or dual battery system is advisable to maintain consistent performance across multiple pulls.

What warranty applies?

The Warn VR Evo 12-S comes with a limited lifetime mechanical warranty and a 7-year electrical warranty.
