The TAG Extreme Recovery Towbar for Mitsubishi Triton MQ and MR models is built in Australia for tradies, fleets and off-road tourers who want a genuine recovery point engineered into the towbar itself, not bolted on as an afterthought. Two WLL 4000kg load-rated recovery points sit in the 3-piece side-arm design, with bevelled edges shaped for soft shackles, ready when you need to pull yourself or a mate out of trouble.

This version suits Triton MQ and MR models with the factory bumper step still fitted. It carries a 3100kg towing capacity and 310kg ball weight on a Class 4, 50mm square hitch receiver, backed by TAG's Limited Lifetime Warranty. The reinforced crossbar and flush chassis-mounted profile keep the hardware tucked up out of the way, so you're not trading away departure angle for towing capability.

A towbar is a safety critical item and not always a straightforward fitment due to vehicle manufacturing variation. We strongly recommend you get your towbar and wiring harness installed by a professional towbar or vehicle accessory fitting workshop.

Is this towbar-only, or does it include wiring?

Towbar only, no wiring harness. If you need trailer lighting or reversing sensors wired in, the TXR850-K201 towbar and wiring harness kit uses the same towbar with a TAG Direct Fit Wiring Harness added.

What's the towing capacity of this towbar?

3100kg towing capacity with a 310kg ball weight on the Triton MQ/MR.

Can I use this towbar as a recovery point?

Yes, it has two WLL 4000kg load-rated recovery points built into the side-arms, not just a tow hitch. A standard tow ball should never be used for a snatch recovery.

Does fitting this towbar require cutting the bumper?

No cutting is required, though the factory bumper is removed during fitment.

How long does fitting take?

Around 40 minutes for a professional fitter. As a safety critical item, we recommend installation by a qualified towbar or vehicle accessory fitting workshop.

Do I need to tell my insurer if I fit a towbar?

Check with your insurer and your state's transport authority, as requirements vary by policy and jurisdiction.
