Does the X4TS require drilling to install on my RAM 1500?

No drilling is needed. The X4TS is designed to clamp directly onto your RAM 1500's bed rails using the included hardware. Most owners complete the install in under an hour using standard hand tools.

What are the T-slot rails and what can I mount on them?

The integrated T-slot side rails run along both sides of the cover and are designed to accept compatible over-bed rack systems, load bars, and cargo accessories (sold separately). How does the patented locking system work?

Can I drive with the cover partially rolled forward, or does it need to be fully open or closed?

The X4TS is designed to be used either fully closed or fully rolled forward and locked against the cab. Driving with it partially open isn't recommended — it can create wind noise and put unnecessary stress on the slats and latching mechanism.
