The Slimline II is Front Runner's full-cargo roof rack platform, and the Fortuner kit is one of the larger setups in the range at 1964mm long. The deck uses laser-cut steel side rails with interchangeable slat inserts, which means you get a solid, open-design load surface without the weight of a solid-deck platform. The open design is practical too: it lets air move through the rack, doesn't trap debris, and doesn't add unnecessary drag on the highway the way a full solid roof basket would.

The Slimline II system is designed to work with Front Runner's accessory range out of the box. That includes awnings, solar panel mounts, jerry can holders, light mounts, bike carriers, and more. The kit mounts directly to the Fortuner's factory roof load points, so there's no drilling or body modification required. Everything needed for a complete installation comes in the kit.

In our experience, the Fortuner tends to attract two types of buyers: genuine touring and off-road builds where people want a full cargo platform for overland travel, and family 4WD setups where the rack is doing real work carrying camping gear, a tent, or roof-mounted storage.
