Towing Mirrors

Towing Mirrors that Ensure you'll Tow Safer and Drive smarter.

Anyone who's towed a caravan, camper trailer, boat, or horse float, will know that your standard side mirrors just don’t cut it. That’s where towing mirrors come in.

Whether you're heading off on a big lap around Australia or just backing into a tight caravan park, having the right mirrors is a game changer. Towing mirrors provide the extra visibility you need to stay safe on the road—helping you see down the full length of your vehicle and whatever you're towing. And fun fact, it’s actually a legal requirement in Australia to use towing mirrors if your load is wider than your vehicle.

Our range of extendable towing mirrors have been designed to suit most popular 4x4s and utes across brands like Toyota, Ford, Mazda, Nissan, and Mitsubishi. Choose from options with indicators, electric adjustability, and heated glass—depending on what your vehicle supports.

Why Towing Mirrors are Worth The Investment

  • Serious visibility – Extendable arms and wide-angle mirrors help eliminate blind spots and make lane changes, overtaking, and reversing a whole lot safer.
  • Easy to install – Most are plug-and-play, designed to work with your vehicle’s existing controls.
  • Built to match your rig – Available in black or chrome finishes to suit your style.
  • Reliable in the bush or the burbs – Tough enough for the outback, sleek enough for city streets.
  • Legal peace of mind – Stay compliant and avoid unwanted fines while towing.

Whether you’re hauling a caravan up the coast, a float to the next comp, or gear for a weekend off-grid, you’ll want towing mirrors that are as reliable as the rest of your setup. Browse our full range and find the perfect fit for your vehicle today.

Towing safely starts with seeing clearly—upgrade your mirrors and tow with confidence.

Frequently Asked Questions About Towing Mirrors

Do I legally need towing mirrors in Australia?

Yes. If your caravan, trailer, or load is wider than your vehicle and your factory mirrors don’t provide a clear view down both sides, you are required by law to use towing mirrors. Failing to do so can result in fines and demerit points.

The team over at AdelaideRV did a great video explaining it (see here). In a nutshell, if the cops pull you over, they’ll usually check your mirrors by measuring from the outside of your driver’s side mirror to the outside of the passenger mirror. If for example it measures 2.2 m, and the trailer or caravan behind you is wider than 2.2 m, you’re going to get fined.

How do towing mirrors improve safety?

Towing mirrors extend outward to provide a better field of vision, helping you see down the full length of your vehicle and what you’re towing. This makes lane changes, reversing, overtaking, and merging far safer.

Are towing mirrors easy to install?

Yes. Most towing mirrors are designed as full replacements for your factory mirrors and are plug-and-play. That means no cutting or rewiring—just bolt them on and plug them into your existing controls.

Will I still be able to use electric adjustment and indicators?

Absolutely. Many of our towing mirrors are compatible with your vehicle’s electric adjustments, indicators, blind spot monitoring, and even heating functions—depending on your model.

Can I use a rear camera instead of towing mirrors?

No. While cameras can help with rear vision, they don’t meet legal requirements for side visibility. Towing mirrors are still required to provide a clear view down the full length of your setup.

Will towing mirrors affect my vehicle’s appearance?

Modern towing mirrors are designed to complement your vehicle. You can choose between black or chrome finishes and sleek, OE-style builds that look great on-road or off-road.

Are towing mirrors suitable for off-road use?

Yes. Our towing mirrors are built tough to handle corrugations, dust, and all the bumps that come with off-road touring across Australia.

What vehicles do your towing mirrors fit?

We stock towing mirrors to suit most popular 4WDs and utes in Australia, including Toyota LandCruiser, Hilux, Ford Ranger, Mazda BT-50, Nissan Navara, Mitsubishi Triton, and more.

How far do towing mirrors extend?

Most extendable towing mirrors give you an extra 100 mm–200 mm of visibility over factory mirrors. This helps cover blind spots and improves awareness when towing wide loads.

Do towing mirrors vibrate at high speeds?

Quality towing mirrors are designed to minimise vibration and maintain a clear view, even at highway speeds. Be sure to choose a set built for your vehicle for best results.
