A cab chassis Hilux built between August 2008 and September 2015 usually ends up towing more than the factory ball mount was ever designed for. This TAG Extreme Recovery (XR) kit replaces it with a Class 4, 50mm square hitch receiver rated to 3500kg towing and 350kg ball weight, engineered and finished in Australia specifically for this Hilux cab chassis.

What sets it apart from a standard towbar is the pair of WLL 4500kg-rated recovery points built into the 89mm x 89mm reinforced crossbar. They sit within the three-piece side-arm design with bevelled edges shaped for a soft shackle, so the same mounting point that tows your trailer on the black top can also anchor recovery gear well off it.

The kit bundles the towbar with a TAG direct fit wiring harness (relay-based) and a 7 pin flat vehicle-side socket, so the mechanical and electrical sides of the job are covered in one purchase rather than sourced separately. Budget around two hours in a workshop for the full fit.
