Will it start my diesel 4WD?

Yes. The IS1220C is rated for 12V engines up to 7.0L petrol and 4.5L diesel, covering virtually every 4WD on the Australian market. HiLux, Land Cruiser 70 Series, Patrol, Triton, D-Max, Ranger, all well within those limits. The IS920C (900A) does not cover diesel at all, so if you drive a diesel the IS1220C is the model you need.

How many jump starts can I actually get from a full charge?

Projecta rates the IS1220C for 68 petrol starts and 34 diesel starts from a full charge under test conditions. Real-world numbers vary with engine size, ambient temperature, and battery condition, but the 38.4Wh internal battery gives substantial capacity. The Rapid Recharge feature also replenishes the unit from the vehicle's alternator in 40 seconds after each use, extending practical usability further.

How does Rapid Recharge Technology work?

Once you have jump-started the vehicle, leave the clamps connected to the running battery for 40 seconds. The alternator tops the IS1220C back to its pre-use energy level, making it ready for the next emergency almost immediately. No USB charger needed between starts, which is invaluable when you are out remote and assisting multiple vehicles.

How often should I charge it when it is sitting in the glovebox?
