Built for Serious Pulling Power — 25,000lb 12V or 24V Winch with Steel Cable
When your workday (or weekend mission) depends on gear that won’t give out, the Runva EWB25000 Premium 24V Winch with Steel Cable delivers the grunt you need — and the trust you demand.
This isn’t your average recovery winch. With an enormous 25,000lb line pull (11.3 tons), it's purpose-built for towing contractors, heavy hauliers, and off-grid explorers running 12V or 24V systems. Whether you're dragging dead-weight machinery onto a tilt tray or pulling a fully loaded Unimog from a deep bog, this beast handles it without flinching.
Engineered to Keep You Moving — No Matter What You're Recovering
Downtime costs money. Getting stuck in the middle of nowhere? That costs confidence. The EWB25000 is made for both. Compact enough to fit tight recovery truck setups, yet tough enough to take on military, marine or expedition use — this winch is the workhorse you install once and count on for years.
The Runva EWB25000 is also available with synthetic rope, in 12v and 24v options. See here.

The brake is Runva's most advanced Ratchet system which is located in the gearbox. This system is extremely efficient and able to hold without fail when you stop winching. This is the same brake as featured in their vertical lifting winch. Unlike the other traditional brake systems which uses brake pads, this will not wear out.
The clutch is easily engaged/disengaged via the Rotary Clutch system. The EWB25000 Premium is also fully compatible with Runva's optional Air Clutch for easy in-cab control. An optional extra cable tensioner can also be supplied for commercial applications.
If you are looking for a heavy duty winch, for either recreational or commercial applications, the EWB25000 Premium is the winch for you. This model is perfect for your expedition Unimog, Iveco Daily, Tow Truck, marine or military applications. (plus many other applications)

Frequently Asked Questions
Why choose steel cable on a 25,000lb winch rather than synthetic rope?
At commercial capacities where the cable is worked daily against rough terrain, debris and abrasive surfaces, aircraft-grade steel cable's resistance to cutting and fraying is a significant operational advantage. It's the standard choice for tow trucks and commercial plant where the cable is dragged across bitumen, rocks and scrap metal. For private expedition use, the synthetic rope version is worth considering. Both carry the same rating, bolt pattern and IP67 specification.
What's the rated line pull and what does 25,000lb handle?
Rated at 25,000lb (11,340kg) — 11.3 tonnes — on the first layer. Covers fully loaded tow trucks, heavy expedition Unimogs, plant equipment, marine recovery and military-grade applications. No standard Australian recreational 4WD will ever need this capacity; this is a commercial and heavy expedition grade winch.
What cable is included?
13.8mm x 26.5m aircraft-grade steel cable, matched to the winch's 25,000lb capacity. The drum size is 120mm x 198mm — considerably larger than 4WD-class winch drums, which is why the overall dimensions are 638mm x 298mm x 300mm and shipping weight is approximately 98kg.
What's the difference between the 12V and 24V versions?
Both rated at 25,000lb. The 12V motor is 5.5kW/7.4HP and the 24V is 6.1kW/8.2HP. For commercial vehicles running 24V — most trucks, tow trucks and heavy plant — the 24V version is the natural choice. It draws less current for the same output, which matters enormously at this capacity level where cable and connector sizing is already a significant design consideration.
What bolt pattern and dimensions does this winch use?
Dual mounting patterns: 254mm x 114.3mm and 254mm x 190.5mm, with 8x M12 bolts. Overall dimensions are 638mm x 298mm x 300mm, shipping weight approximately 98kg. This winch requires a purpose-built commercial mount — it is not a bull bar fitment. Professional installation is essential.
Is the air clutch and tensioner available?
Yes — the EWB25000 is compatible with Runva's optional air clutch for in-cab freespool control, and an optional cable tensioner is available for commercial applications requiring consistent spooling. Both are listed as optional extras on the website.
Does this winch carry IP67 protection?
Yes — full IP67 ingress protection throughout, including motor, gearbox and control box. Ratchet brake housed in the gearbox (same system as Runva's vertical lifting winches) and stainless steel rotary clutch. Built for all conditions.
What warranty applies for commercial use?
Commercial applications carry Runva's limited 18-month commercial use warranty. Private and recreational use is covered by the limited 5-year electrical and lifetime mechanical warranty. Australian warranty support available.
