XRS Cross Bars Bed Rail Kit for Full and Mid-size Trucks with Tonneau Cover T-Tracks by Go Rhino

A lot of tray and tub setups force you to choose between carrying gear up top or keeping your bed usable underneath. The Go Rhino XRS Cross Bars Bed Rail Kit is designed to give you both. It creates a raised mounting platform above the tub while still allowing practical access to your cargo area below.

Designed around Go Rhino’s 4-CORE crossbar system, the kit gives you flexible mounting options for rooftop tents, cargo boxes, recovery gear, trail tools and camping accessories. Each crossbar accepts standard 1/4"-20 hex head hardware, making it easier to mount accessories without being locked into specialised brackets or proprietary systems.

The low-profile design positions mounted gear below the roofline of the cab, which can help reduce wind resistance compared to taller rack systems. The raised corner uprights position the crossbars approximately 6 inches above the bed rails, helping maintain usable tray space underneath.

Installation is fully no-drill on compatible applications and the system is designed to work with selected tonneau covers that feature integrated T-slot tracks.

The full-size kit is for wider beds around 73 inches, examples include the Chevrolet Silverado 1500/2500, Ford F-150, and RAM 1500/2500. Measure your inner bed width between the side walls to confirm before ordering.

Can I run a rooftop tent on these crossbars?

Yes, the 4-CORE crossbar design accepts accessories including rooftop tent mounting brackets. Where applicable, Go Rhino XRS rack and crossbar systems are generally rated to 270 kg static and 136 kg dynamic, but the usable load also depends on the T-slot system on your specific tonneau cover. Check both ratings against your tent's weight before committing to this setup.

How high do the crossbars sit above the bed rails?

The raised corner uprights position the 4-CORE crossbars approximately 6 inches above the factory bed rails. This height keeps mounted gear, including a rooftop tent, lower than many traditional full-height rack systems, which helps maintain a lower overall vehicle profile and reduces wind resistance compared to taller setups.

How is this different from the full XRS Overland Xtreme Rack System?

The XRS Cross Bars Bed Rail Kit is a simpler, lower-profile setup -- corner uprights and 4-CORE crossbars that mount on top of your existing T-track tonneau cover. The full XRS Overland Xtreme Rack is a complete modular rack system with full-height vertical uprights, integrated MOLLE panels, gear tables, and a broader accessory ecosystem. If you want a low-profile platform for a rooftop tent or cargo carrier above a retractable cover, the cross bar kit is the straightforward solution. If you want a full overland rack with uprights and organised gear storage, the Xtreme Rack is the step up.

Can I still open and retract the tonneau cover with the crossbars installed?

Yes. The cross bar kit mounts to the T-slot tracks on top of the closed tonneau cover via the corner uprights, and is designed to allow the cover to still open and retract underneath. The specific clearance will depend on your tonneau cover model and the accessories you have mounted. Check operating clearances for your cover before loading the crossbars with tall accessories.

Is installation no-drill, and do I need to remove the tonneau cover to fit it?

Yes, installation is no-drill on compatible T-track tonneau applications. The kit slides into the T-slot tracks and clamps in place without removing the cover. Installation instructions are included with the kit.

What if I change my tonneau cover in the future?

The cross bars in this kit are designed to mount via a T-track tonneau cover. If you change to a cover without T-slot tracks, the kit will not have a compatible mounting surface.
