E1 Electric Running Board Side Steps | RAM 2500HD (2022+) by Go Rhino

The Go Rhino E1 Electric Running Board turns getting in and out of a RAM 2500HD (2022+) into an easy, one-motion step. Open the door and dual motors drive the board out to a full 6-inch aluminium platform with an anti-slip surface; close the door and it retracts, tucking itself out of the way of rocks and scrub.

Deployment runs through magnetically-activated door switches, so your OBD port stays free for a scan tool or any other plug-in accessory. Integrated LED lights switch on as the board deploys, and an automatic SAFE-STOP feature is designed to halt deployment if it detects something in the board's path. There's also an interior bypass switch, so you can manually override automatic deployment when you need to.

Both boards are corrosion-resistant aluminium with black nylon end caps to keep debris out. This kit comes in Go Rhino's Protective Bedliner Coating finish (a Textured Black Powder Coat version is also available), backed by a limited lifetime warranty on materials and construction, plus a 5-year warranty on the finish, under Go Rhino's terms.

Does fitting the E1 Electric Running Board block the OBD port on my RAM 2500?

Are electric running boards like the Go Rhino E1 worth it over fixed steps?

It comes down to what you want day to day. Fixed steps are simpler with nothing to power, but the E1 retracts out of sight when not in use, which helps preserve ground clearance and keeps the underside cleaner-looking on the highway. If you'd rather have zero moving parts, a fixed step is the simpler route.
