The Extang Solid Fold ALX brings one big upgrade over the standard Solid Fold 2.0: a proprietary Secure Rotary Release Latching System that opens with one hand. Drop the tailgate, twist the latch, lift, and you're in. Closing is just as simple. Push the panels down and the same latching system clicks itself shut against the bed rails, so there's no fumbling with separate tailgate clamps every time you need to load or unload your RAM 2500HD.

Underneath that upgraded latch, it's built the same way as the Solid Fold 2.0: 1-inch thick EnduraShield TPO panels reinforced by a lightweight, EnduraCoat-finished aluminium frame on dual-pivot MaxHinges. It's rated to carry up to 272 kg (600 lbs) of evenly distributed weight, and hard polymer rubber corners, hinge caps and snap-on triple-fin perimeter seals are there to keep moisture out of your tray.
