If you've thrown gear in the back of your Gladiator and watched it get soaked or sun-baked, the BAKFlip MX4 TS hard folding tonneau cover fixes that without turning your tub into a locked box you can't use. It's a hard folding cover built from aluminium panels with a matte black finish, sitting low and flush on the tub so it doesn't ruin the factory lines of your Gladiator.

What makes the MX4 TS worth a look over a basic clamp-on cover is the integrated T-slot rail system running along the top. You can bolt on compatible racks and accessories directly to the cover itself (sold separately) for bikes, ladders or camping gear, so you're not choosing between a locked tub and a way to carry your gear on top of it.

When you need the whole tray, the tri-fold panels fold forward against the cab in seconds for full bed access, and the automatic latching panels and dual-action tailgate seal keep everything secure and dry while it's closed.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the BAKFlip MX4 TS compatible with a sports bar on my Gladiator?

No. BAK states the MX4 TS isn't compatible with sports bars or roll bars fitted to the tub. If you're running one, check with us before ordering.

Can I still fit a roof rack or bike carrier with this cover on?

Yes. The integrated T-slot rail system lets you mount compatible racks and accessories directly to the cover (sold separately). Check compatibility with your specific rack system before buying, since not every rack brand is designed for T-slot mounting.

How much weight can I put on top of the closed cover, and can I stand on it?

It's rated to 181 kg (400 lb) when the load is evenly distributed across the panels. That's a cargo rating, not a step rating: avoid concentrating your full weight on one spot, and don't treat it as a ladder or platform.

Will this cover leak in heavy rain?

It's built with re-engineered perimeter seals, tight-fit clamps and an integrated water drainage system to keep water out under normal use. As with any clamp-on cover, it's worth checking the seals periodically, especially after off-road use where dust or grit can affect the fit.

Is a hard folding cover like this worth it over a soft one?

It comes down to what you need. Hard folding covers like the MX4 TS trade a bit of weight and cost for a lockable, load-rated surface and better long-term weatherproofing; soft folding covers are lighter and usually cheaper but don't offer the same rigidity or security.

What's the expected service life of the MX4 TS?

BAK backs it with a 5-year manufacturer warranty, and the aluminium panel construction with UV-resistant coating is built for ongoing outdoor use. Actual service life will depend on your climate and how it's cared for.

Will the cover block my third brake light?

No. BAK has engineered the MX4 TS to maintain full third brake light visibility in every panel position, open or closed.

Do I need to drill into my Gladiator's tub to fit this?

No. It's a no-drill, clamp-on installation. One person can fit it in under 30 minutes with the hardware included in the box.
