Extreme Recovery Towbar and Direct Fit Wiring Harness for Ford Ranger (06/2022 - 12/2024), Volkswagen Amarok (12/2022 - on) - Styleside Models by TAG

This kit pairs the TAG Extreme Recovery Towbar with an Erich Jaeger CAN-Bus wiring harness, built for Styleside and tub body Ford Ranger and Volkswagen Amarok models with the rear bumper step. Two WLL 4500kg load-rated recovery points sit in the towbar's side-arms, bevelled for soft shackles, giving you a proper anchor for a snatch strap or winch line instead of relying on the tow ball.

Fitting this Styleside towbar involves removing the factory bumper and cutting it to suit, taking around 90 minutes. As a Class 4 towbar it's rated to 3500kg towing and 350kg ball weight with the standard hitch supplied. The harness connects via a 7 pin flat plug; coding is optional and only needed if you want automatic rear parking sensor deactivation.

Will this towbar's wiring harness affect my reverse sensors?

Coding is optional and only needed if you want automatic rear parking sensor deactivation. Without coding, the harness still works, the sensors just aren't automatically cut off when reversing with a trailer attached.

Is this towbar a recovery point?

Not the same as the tow ball or hitch tongue alone. This kit builds two WLL 4500kg-rated recovery points into the side-arms for that job.

Does fitting this towbar require cutting the bumper?

Yes. On the Styleside fitment, the factory bumper is removed and cut during installation.
