How will this fit into my vehicle?
The BT50Maxx is designed to fit the following models:
- 2012- Early 2015 (all models)
- Late 2015 – 2017 (XT models only)
The BT50Maxx comes with it’s own fascia and completely replaces your entire button panel.
Will my OEM screen up the top still work?
- No, your OEM screen will now just be a blank panel where you can place sunglasses or similar items.
Will I lose all my buttons?
- Yes with the BT50Maxx you will lose your entire button panel as the screen goes in place. The fascia does come with a new hazard and door lock switch.
What comes with the head unit?
- Wiring harness to suit 2012-2015 Mazda BT50 (XGT,XTR,GT) & 2015-2017 Mazda BT50 (XT)

Will my steering wheel controls work?
- Yes all of your steering wheel controls will still work apart from the voice recognition control.
I have one of your older RW5015 models, can I swap it out with this unit?
- Yes, you can. The RW5015 model utilised the OEM CD player and retained the button panel. The BT50Maxx will require the OEM CD player to come out and you won’t be able to retain the button panel anymore.
- The BT50Maxx will come with everything you need including a brand new fascia to install in place of the RW5015. You will lose the CD function though.
I have a 2015 - 2017 XTR / GT Model, can I replace the current head unit with your BT50MAXX?
- Unfortunately our unit will not suit the 2015-2017 GT, XTR model as it uses a different wiring harness and has different wiring for the Hazard and Central locking switches.

- Yes, it comes with a plug and play harness with a CAN bus module.

Not if you are fitting it into the following models:
- 2012- early 2015 (all models)
- late 2015 – 2017 (XT models only)
I want the 10.1 inch moveable screen, can I install this in my Mazda BT50?
- Yes you can install the Universal Maxx in your Mazda BT50 but you will require an Aerpro Installation kit.
How much warranty does the unit come with?

- iPhone users can use navigation apps such as Apple maps, google, waze etc.

What is CarPlay and Android Auto?

Apple CarPlay lets you use a selection of your Iphone’s functions directly through your car’s built-in infotainment system. Apple CarPlay is often more user-friendly and faster to respond than the standard features built into many infotainment systems

Android Auto brings a selection of apps to your car display so you can focus while you drive. You can control features like navigation, maps, calls, text messages, and music.
Do I need internet connectivity for CarPlay or Android Auto?
- Yes, internet connectivity is required. This is because the head unit is designed to display your phone’s mapping and features on the head unit’s interface via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. So, you can continue to use your phone in a seamless way, but with the added bonus of having everything displayed on the head unit’s screen.
Does Apple CarPlay and Android Auto mirror my phone?
- Apple CarPlay and Android Auto modes prioritise your safety while driving. That’s why not all apps from your phone will be displayed when using the CarPlay or Android Auto interface. Only apps that have been approved by Apple for CarPlay and by Google for Android Auto will be accessible through the head unit’s screen.
- Apps need to meet strict requirements in order to be approved for Carplay & Android Auto by their creators.
What are your options for off-road maps?
There are several options for Off road mapping:
- Purchase our OziExplorer Topo package and if you want to add HEMA maps to it you can buy directly through Oziexplorer.com or GPSoz.com to add to the card.
- Download the Hema 4×4 app through the Playstore
- Download Exploreoz Traveller through the Playstore
- Download Gaia Maps and use it through Carplay / Android Auto
- Download Newtracs onto the head unit
- Download memory maps onto the head unit

Do I have bluetooth?
Yes you can pair your phone via bluetooth and:
- Make / receive hand free phone calls
- Import contacts
- Stream audio via bluetooth
Will my iPhone work with an Android unit?
- Yes, it has Wireless Carplay built in, so your iPhone will work with the Carplay interface.
Does it come with a reverse camera?
- Yes, it will come with our AHD Mini Camera and also includes a number plate bracket for versatile fitting options.
Can I plug my factory Bt50 camera from my mirror monitor into the BT50MAXX?
Does it have a second camera input?
- Yes the BT50Maxx has a second camera input which can be used for a front camera or a caravan camera.
Can I run more than two cameras through the head unit?

I want to add a caravan camera and have it appear on the head unit, what do I need?
We have a dedicated kit for adding a caravan camera for an extra cost which includes:
- RCA Adaptor
- 7 metre extension cable
- WOZA caravan/Trailer cable kit
- Caravan Camera
If I add a caravan camera, can I view it on my head unit at any time?
- Yes, there is dedicated Camera app on the head unit that allows you to view the additional camera at any time.
Does the unit come with built-in radio?
- Yes the unit comes with analogue AM/FM Radio
- Please note that it is not digital radio (DAB+), however you can download many different compatible radio apps on the head unit and stream radio*
- *Requires internet connectivity
Does the unit have a CD/DVD player?

- Yes the unit has 2 cabled USBs that are placed in your glove box for easy access.
Does it have Wi-Fi capability?
- Yes, you can use a portable Wifi device or your phones personal hotspot to connect up to Wifi.
Can I insert a SIM card into the unit?
Does it have an SD card slot?
- Yes, it is located in the back of the head unit.
Can I install other apps onto the head unit?
- Yes, you can download compatible apps from the Google Play Store or install APK files. However, it’s important to note that not all apps may be compatible with the head unit. While support for third-party apps is provided, some may not function properly.
- A good rule of thumb is if the app you want to install on your head unit has an app compatible with a tablet, then there is a good chance it will work.

Can I fit this product myself?
- While installation of the BT50Maxx is possible, it requires specialised technical skills and expertise. If you lack the necessary confidence or skill to install the product, we recommend contacting an auto-electrician for installation.
