PowerSwitch Digital Switch Box by Garmin

Every extra 12V accessory you bolt onto a 4WD tends to bring its own switch, its own wiring run, and its own spot on an already crowded dash. The Garmin PowerSwitch is built to fix that. Instead of physical switches, it gives you a compact digital switch box that controls your gear from a smartphone, a compatible Garmin navigator, Apple CarPlay or Android Auto.

Wiring stays simpler too. The PowerSwitch is small enough to mount under the bonnet or inside a canopy, so accessory wiring can terminate close to where it's needed rather than running back through the firewall to a dash panel. Once it's connected, Bluetooth lets you switch, dim, flash or strobe your gear from the app, and you can rename each switch or assign it its own icon so the layout makes sense to you.

If your accessory list keeps growing, the PowerSwitch grows with it. Up to four units can be linked to a single compatible display, taking you from six controlled accessories to twenty-four without adding another bank of dash switches.

Features

  • Controls up to six independent 12V accessories from a single unit, each output rated to 30 A (100 A max total system output)
  • Wireless control via smartphone, compatible Garmin navigator, Apple CarPlay or Android Auto over 2.4 GHz Bluetooth
  • Switch, dim, flash or strobe connected accessories from the Garmin PowerSwitch app
  • Build custom virtual switch layouts, rename switches and assign icons to suit your setup
  • Group accessories together for one-touch control
  • Two discrete hardwired control inputs, so you can trigger digital outputs from physical dash switches or your vehicle's high beams
  • Compact enough to mount under the bonnet or inside a canopy
  • IPX7 water rating
  • Link up to four PowerSwitch units from one compatible display for control of up to 24 accessories

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Garmin PowerSwitch?

It's a compact digital switch box that replaces physical dash switches with app-based control of up to six independent 12V accessories, such as light bars, air compressors, horns and winches.

How many amps can each output handle?

Each of the six outputs is rated to 30 A, with a maximum total system output of 100 A across the unit.

How do you connect to the Garmin PowerSwitch?

Pairing is done over 2.4 GHz Bluetooth from a compatible smartphone, Garmin navigator, Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, then managed through the Garmin PowerSwitch app.

Why won't my Garmin PowerSwitch connect?

Connection issues usually come down to Bluetooth being switched off on the paired device, the phone or navigator being out of range, or the PowerSwitch not receiving its 12 to 16 V power supply. Working through those three checks resolves most pairing issues.

Can I link more than one PowerSwitch together?

Yes. Up to four units link to a single compatible display, extending control from six accessories to twenty-four.

Do I still need physical dash switches?

Not necessarily. The PowerSwitch is built for digital, app-based control. It does have two hardwired inputs if you'd rather trigger outputs from physical dash switches or your vehicle's high beams.

Is the Garmin PowerSwitch waterproof?

It carries an IEC 60529 IPX7 water rating. As with any accessory wiring, having it installed by a qualified auto electrician makes sure the rating holds up in practice.

Where can the PowerSwitch be installed?

Its compact size (125 x 32 x 75 mm) suits mounting under the bonnet or inside a canopy. We recommend professional installation by a qualified auto electrician to route wiring correctly for your vehicle and accessories.

Excellent & Honest Service

We try and provide the best pre and after sales service possible. If you have a question we’re here to help, and if we don’t know the answer we’ll tell you and then do our absolute best to find the answer for you. We’re also here to guide you to the best possible outcome for you. A lot of stores will simply try to up-sell you on the most expensive option. That’s not how we operate. We want to build a relationship with our customers, and the only way to do that is by being honest and direct.

4x4 Down Under is built on honesty and integrity. For example when you make a purchase with us we only charge your account once we confirm the product is ready for dispatch. Although we like to guarantee everything on our store is available we’re not perfect and mistakes do happen. If something turns out to not be available we’ll let you know immediately and you have the option to cancel your order or wait for more stock to arrive. Should you not want to wait the order is voided, and there’s no waiting a week to get your money back (it’s instant!).

We're Australians, and we like to support our fellow Australians, which is why all our products are sourced locally from the official Australian distributors. Nothing is imported directly and we don't stock any grey imports. This also means that all manufacturer warranties are fully honored by the brands themselves.

No Sales Gimmicks

When you shop at 4x4 Down Under you don’t have to worry about:
  • Annoying and dishonest ’Sales Timers’ that simply reset every few hours and are there to coerce you into buying.
  • Dishonest “low stock” labels, another coercive sales gimmick.
  • False “John just bought a…” alerts. Our customer alerts (bottom left) are 100% true and we're proud of them.
  • Being bombarded by trust badges and labels everywhere you look that mean nothing.
  • We don't spam! Your information is safe with us. It will never be shared or sold, or used to fill your inbox with garbage.
