The Carbon Offroad Large Vehicle High-Vis Kinetic Recovery Rope is designed specifically for heavy recovery situations. With a 22,000 kg breaking strain and constructed from double braided Nylon 66, it’s built for trucks, buses, and heavy machinery where controlled load handling is critical.

Unlike static straps, this rope is designed to stretch under load. With up to 30% elasticity, it helps manage the energy during a recovery by allowing a more progressive transfer of force between vehicles.

This is a heavy-vehicle recovery rope. At 22,000kg breaking strain and 32mm diameter with double braided Nylon 66 construction, it's designed for trucks, buses, heavy commercial vehicles, and large machinery. For a standard 4WD recovery, a 9,000–12,000kg kinetic rope is more appropriate and far easier to handle — this rope is a different tool entirely.

How is this different from a standard 4x4 kinetic recovery rope?

Scale and construction. This rope is 32mm in diameter compared to 16–25mm for typical 4x4 ropes, and it's double braided Nylon 66 with a urethane coating. The 22,000kg breaking strain is designed for loads that would simply snap a standard 4x4 kinetic rope. It's a purpose-built heavy-duty tool, not an oversized 4WD accessory.

What shackles do I need for a 22,000kg recovery rope?

You need shackles rated to at least 22,000kg — ideally higher. Soft shackles in the 30–40 tonne range or rated heavy-duty bow shackles are the appropriate choice. Undersized shackles will fail before the rope does under high load, which creates a serious safety risk for everyone involved in the recovery.

Does the high-vis colour serve a practical purpose?

Yes. In heavy-vehicle recovery scenarios there are often multiple people managing the rigging, and the forces involved are significant. A bright orange and blue rope is far easier to track against dirt, grass, and shadow, which helps everyone keep clear of the rope's path before and during the pull.
