What does "double jerry can" mean, is it two separate cans?

No, it's a single moulded unit shaped like two 20-litre jerry cans joined together, giving a total capacity of 40 litres. The familiar double-jerry profile means it fits in most standard jerry can holders and brackets, and the single-piece construction means no leaking connections between separate cans.

What outlet size does it have, and what fittings are compatible?

The WTP40J has a 10mm outlet. This is smaller than the 1/2" BSPT brass fittings found on other BOAB tanks, so check hose and tap compatibility before purchasing add-ons. A 10mm hose barb and inline tap are the most common fittings used with this outlet.

Is the water safe to drink from this tank?

Yes. The WTP40J is made from BPA-free poly, making it fully suitable for potable water storage. It's designed for carrying fresh drinking water in remote areas of Australia.

Does it come with a tap, and how do I access the water?

The double jerry can does not include a built-in tap. Water is drawn through the 10mm outlet, which you can fit with a hose, gravity tap, or pump connection. If you want a jerry can with a pre-fitted tap, the 20L single jerry (WTP20JT) is the better option.

How does this compare to the 20L Boab jerry can with tap?

The 40L double jerry (WTP40J) holds twice the volume and has a 10mm outlet without a built-in tap, it's suited to semi-permanent vehicle installations. The 20L jerry with tap (WTP20JT) is a standard single-can size with a built-in base tap and easy-fill cap, which makes it better for camp use where you're pouring directly from the can. If you want portability and ease of use at camp, go the 20L. If you need more capacity in a bracket-mounted setup, the 40L double jerry is the go.

Order Dispatch

Orders are usually dispatched within 1-3 business days. Should there be any delays we will let you know immediately.

In order to get your purchase to you as promptly and safely as possible we utilise a number of trusted and reputable courier services, including Australia Post (depending on the item and your location). These delivery services should have your item delivered to your door within 2 - 10 working days depending on your location. In some cases where the address is based in the more regional parts of Australia this may take longer. Should the delivery time take longer than we would like we will let you know.

As soon as the item has been shipped we will provide you with a tracking number via email. You can then use this number to watch your item make it's way toward your location. It should also give you a clear idea of when to expect your item.

Depending on the item we may contact you to arrange delivery. In order to ensure your purchase lands in the correct hands we will require a signature from you on delivery. If you are not home on delivery the postman/courier will leave a card with collection details.
