What's included with the 20L jerry can?

The jerry can comes with an easy-fill cap at the top and a plastic tap pre-fitted at the base. The tap uses a 1/2" BSPT fitting, so it can be removed and swapped out for a metal tap, hose barb, or pump connection using standard fittings from any hardware store.

Will this fit in a standard jerry can holder?

Yes. The WTP20JT is standard jerry can dimensions, 470mm H x 170mm W x 350mm D, and will fit in most aftermarket jerry can holders and brackets designed for a 20L plastic jerry. It suits both horizontal and vertical mount positions depending on your holder style.

Is the water safe to drink?

Yes. All BOAB tanks are BPA-free, so the 20L jerry can is fully suitable for potable water storage. It won't affect the taste or safety of your water.

Can the plastic tap be replaced with a metal fitting or hose connection?

Yes. The tap is threaded into a 1/2" BSPT fitting at the base, which is a standard thread. You can swap in a brass tap, a hose barb, or a pump inlet using fittings available at any plumbing or hardware store.

What does it weigh when full?

The jerry can weighs 2kg empty. A full 20-litre load brings total weight to approximately 22kg, easily carried by one person, which is part of what makes it a practical choice for camp water management.

Can this be mounted in the vehicle rather than carried loose?

Yes. The standard jerry can shape is compatible with wall-mounted, drawer-mounted, or roof rack jerry can brackets. If mounting it inside a canopy or behind a seat, securing it to prevent movement on corrugated roads is recommended, a loose 22kg jerry can does a lot of damage in a sudden stop.

What is the warranty?

BOAB products carry a 12-month warranty against manufacturing defects.

Is this better for camping use or as a permanent in-vehicle water supply?

The 20L jerry with tap is at its best as a portable camping water vessel, easy to carry to the camp kitchen, fill from a tap, and pour from directly. For a permanent in-vehicle plumbed water supply with a 12V pump and tap point, the larger flat-mount or under-tray tanks are a better investment. Many travellers run both: a large tank plumbed in the vehicle, and a 20L jerry for camp use.

Warranty & Returns Policy

Unless otherwise stated, we offer a 12 month warranty on all products from the date of purchase. It cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. The warranty period for commercial use is 3 months.

You are entitled to a replacement or a full refund for a major failure of our product. You are also entitled to have goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality.

Our warranty cover does not include damage caused by normal wear and tear, accidents, misuse, neglect, and lack of maintenance, use of incorrect voltage, power surges, voltage supply problems, tampering or unauthorised repairs by any persons, use of defective or incompatible accessories, natural disaster, or other external causes; to damage caused by operating the equipment in a manner outside that described in the instructions.

Shipping Cost

A shipping calculator can be located in your Shopping Cart. Please add your item to the cart, once in your Cart page, click "Calculate Shipping" link, enter your postcode and you will be informed of the shipping cost (if any).

Order Dispatch

Orders are usually dispatched within 1-3 business days. Should there be any delays we will let you know immediately.

In order to get your purchase to you as promptly and safely as possible we utilise a number of trusted and reputable courier services, including Australia Post (depending on the item and your location). These delivery services should have your item delivered to your door within 2 - 10 working days depending on your location. In some cases where the address is based in the more regional parts of Australia this may take longer. Should the delivery time take longer than we would like we will let you know.

As soon as the item has been shipped we will provide you with a tracking number via email. You can then use this number to watch your item make it's way toward your location. It should also give you a clear idea of when to expect your item.

Depending on the item we may contact you to arrange delivery. In order to ensure your purchase lands in the correct hands we will require a signature from you on delivery. If you are not home on delivery the postman/courier will leave a card with collection details.
