DAY 1

Arrive in Johannesburg, collect your fully equipped Toyota Hilux 4x4 camper, and drive into the South African bushveld to Dinokeng Big 5 Reserve. Enjoy your first night under the African stars.

Distance: 100 km, mostly tarred roads.

DAY 2

After breakfast, we take 4x4 routes across the Drakensberg escarpment to reach the stunning Lekgalameetse Nature Reserve in Limpopo.

Distance: 300 km, a combination of tar, gravel, and 4x4 tracks.
Accommodation: Lekgalameetse campsite.

DAY 3

Visit the historical village of Leydsdorp and camp at a nearby game farm, with afternoon game viewing activities included.

Distance: 50 km, mostly gravel roads.
Accommodation: Leydsdorp Game Reserve campsite.

DAY 4

After breakfast... Step into a world where nature reigns supreme at Kruger National Park, one of Africa's largest and most iconic game reserves. Spanning nearly 2 million hectares, this breathtaking sanctuary is a haven for wildlife enthusiasts and adventure seekers alike.

Encounter the Big Five—lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhinoceros—up close in their natural habitat.

DAY 5

DAY 6

Today we explore the northern part of the Kruger National Park, a hidden gem with unique attractions that sets it apart:

- Rich Biodiversity which supports an abundance of wildlife.
- Elephant Herds: Northern Kruger is famous for its large elephant populations.
- Birdwatching Paradise: With over 500 bird species, the area is a hotspot for bird watchers.
- Shingwedzi River: This scenic river attracts a wealth of wildlife. Enjoy game viewing along its banks, where you might spot hippos, crocodiles, and numerous bird species.

We follow tar and gravel roads as they meander through the magnificent African bush.

DAY 7

Game drives around Shingwedzi rest camp - experience some of the best big-game viewing in northern Kruger!

DAY 8

Travel further north through Kruger National Park into Elephant and Buffalo territory, with a visit to Crookes Corner, where South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Mozambique meet. Camp by the Mutale River.

Accommodation: Pafuri River campsite.

DAY 9

Today we follow the mighty Limpopo River, with its wealth of attractions to the border town of Musina, enjoying scenic views along the way.

On offer is: Wildlife Spotting: The riverbanks are frequented by a variety of wildlife, including elephants, hippos, and crocodiles, providing excellent opportunities for sightings.

Bird Watching: The Limpopo River is a haven for bird enthusiasts. Look for species like the African Fish Eagle, Kingfishers, and various waterfowl.

DAY 10

Explore Mapungubwe National Park, part of the Greater Mapungubwe Transfrontier Conservation Area shared by South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Botswana.

DAY 11

The morning starts with an early departure and drive to the nearby border post between South Africa and Botswana. We will explore the Untamed Beauty of Tuli Wilderness: A Self-Driving Adventure Awaits!

This is a pristine wildlife paradise, and one of the few places where one is almost guaranteed to see Lion, spotted Hyaena, and even Leopard! The Drive takes us through diverse ecosystems teeming with wildlife. Spot herds of elephants, playful baboons, and elusive leopards in their natural habitat—each moment a reminder of nature’s wonders.

DAY 12

Head to Serolo Safari Camp, located along the shady floodplain of the Limpopo River in the Northern Tuli Game Reserve.

Adventure Awaits: Whether you’re an experienced traveler or a first-time adventurer, Tuli Wilderness offers a unique and exhilarating self-driving experience that will ignite your spirit of exploration.

DAY 13

Enjoy a day of exploration in the Tuli Wilderness, with guided game drives in open vehicles.

Our base “Serolo Safari Camp” is the perfect location to end your day with spectacular sunsets painting the sky in vibrant hues, whilst creating the perfect backdrop for unforgettable memories.

DAY 14

Begin the day with an early morning game drive before crossing the border back into South Africa, spending the night at Camp Aquila in the foothills of the Soutpansberg.

DAY 15

Return to Johannesburg “The City of Gold”, drop off your rental vehicle, and transfer to Johannesburg International Airport, or the hotel of your choice.
