Arrive at Johannesburg International Airport by your own arrangement. Meet up with your professional guide and collect your fully kitted-out Toyota Land Cruiser 4x4 camper. Drive into the South African bushveld. Spend your first evening under the bright African stars at a private nature reserve.

DAY 2

DAY 4

Travel deeper into rural Botswana, passing through Selebi-Phikwe and Letlhakane. Your journey takes you into the expansive Makgadikgadi Pans, covering 12,000 km² of open space. Camp on Lekhubu Island, a remote area with limited ablutions, providing a true wilderness experience.

Distance: 620 km (mostly tarred roads, last 50 km on dirt tracks)

DAY 5

Drive further into the Makgadikgadi Salt Pans, crossing endless waterless plains where only the hardiest wildlife, such as oryx, springbok, and hyena, can survive. End the day at Planet Baobab Rest Camp, located at the edge of the Makgadikgadi Wilderness.

Distance: 110 km (dirt and sand tracks, approximately 6 hours)

DAY 6

Head to Maun, the gateway to the Okavango Delta. Here, enjoy a 45-minute scenic flight over the Delta, an extraordinary inland oasis that supports a rich variety of wildlife and birdlife. After the flight, check into a comfortable lodge for the night.

DAY 7 & 8

Leave civilization behind as you navigate 450 km of wilderness tracks, making your way to the town of Kasane in the north. The Okavango Delta offers some of the best game viewing in Africa, with incredible scenery and diverse wildlife. Depending on water levels, you’ll tackle thick sand and water crossings to reach your wilderness campsite.

DAY 9

Depart the Okavango Delta and journey further into the dry wilderness of Chobe National Park, an elephant and lion paradise. Spend the night camping at Savute or Thobolo’s campsite, surrounded by the sounds of the African bush.
