National Luna’s Off-Road Compressor has a feature that automatically switches to high-speed TURBO mode when the temperature set point is reached, and then switches to energy-efficient idle mode once the temperature has been reached, ensuring optimal power usage. National Luna fridges and freezers have the ability for you to select the levels at which your battery will discharge. You can choose the depth of your battery's discharge, or how low you intend for it to fall before your appliance will shut off. This choice is important because different types of batteries are used for different kinds of appliances. For National Luna fridges and freezers, Low/Medium/High level cut-out circuitry is standard.

And finally, when it comes to operating your National Luna fridge or freezer, you are in charge. An easy-to-read digital thermostat gives you total control. A programmable intelligent controller allows you to set the exact temperature while simultaneously showing you the current compartment temperature. Or choose TURBO mode when you need a quicker blast of freezing cold air to cool down the food in your fridge or freezer.

The National Luna's stainless steel exterior and aluminium interior is durable and improves the cooling process. These fridge freezers are metal inside and out creating a durability unseen in any of the competition. Stainless steel cabinets and aluminium inner liners work together to create a more effective way to insulate.

Manufactured in a unique process that uses aluminium cabinets and an aluminium inner liner, National Luna fridges or freezers are cool both inside and out. By injecting it with foam under high pressure, denser insulation is created, providing better cooling when it counts most. The result? Maximum interior space with a more compact overall footprint. When it comes to your refrigerator, you want even temperature distribution. A plastic fridge uses a separate “refrigeration plate” that causes cold spots. However, National Luna uses inner metal construction and copper piping to eliminate these cold spots (we all know that terrible single spot that freezes everything and shouldn’t?). National Luna portable fridges come with a DIN style 12v power connection and do not come with a standard cigarette-style 12v plug, and here's why.

The outlets that have been installed in the back of your vehicle are at the end of a wiring loom and are most likely reduced to 18 gauge by the time they reach your outlet. The standard cigarette lighter male plug has a flexible single point contact on one or two sides. All current is now reduced to that single contact point. Imagine drinking a waterfall of soda through a straw. And your fridge is now expected to compensate for this? It's incredibly inefficient. Not to mention the outlet being keyed on and off by the ignition.

National Luna's power cord is 10 gauge, multi-strand copper. It has a Hella style DIN male plug on it that is wrapped in 360 degrees of copper for contact to the Hella style DIN socket. Full and complete contact at the connection. National Luna also provides the socket for installation in your vehicle, suggesting a dedicated line of similar gauge from your power source. Now you have a sufficient source of power for your fridge to run on, allowing it to run as it should. This reduces overall power consumption and extends your battery life. Fantastic!
