Reliable and affordable, the Goodwinch Bow Motor 6.8HP 12V was designed to provide high power & torque levels. As long as the winch mounting can accommodate the motors additional length it can be universally fitted to almost any electric winch.
When compared to other commonly used motors (like the Warn XP 6HP unit), the Bow Motor 2 features a low amperage draw.
These motors offer greater high speed and mid range torque and have faster off-line retrieval speeds than the Bow Motor 1, and are similar to the Warn XP. The Bow Motor 2 is a very tough and reliable motor and is favored for “over-volting” (this is when 24v is passed through 12v motors) by many top crews including Croatia Trophy winner Jim Marsden, Challenge winner Simon Buck, Malaysian Rainforest, Steve Gittens and Chris Abel. Keep in mind this motor does not like stalling and will be damaged if this happens.
An "O" ring seal on the end cap is used to waterproof this motor, and we recommend sealing the F1, F2 and A terminals with silicon sealant upon fitment.
These motors feature heavy duty copper armature windings, which are copper welded to the commutator, with highly efficient roller bearings at each end.
It has four enormous long lasting brushes that enable the motor to run cooler.
If fitting to the older Warn 8274 with a keyway type armature shaft, then you will also need to replace the pinion gear with the later type Splined Pinion Gear.
The Bow Motor 2 produces 6.8HP @ 5000RPM.
